2024 Siyaphumelela Conference - Call For Proposals - Deadline 10 May 2024
This conference will provide a platform for experts from the international community, as well as key South African role players, in the field of higher education data analytics to engage in conversations around evidence-based practices and national systemic interventions aimed at student success.
We invite proposals encompassing various interventions aimed at enhancing student success, leveraging data to promote an integrated approach.
Specifically, we encourage proposals that highlight innovative strategies and interventions, such as:
- • Leadership perspectives and innovations concerning student success, particularly in relation to equity and social justice, and to moving to large scale or institution-wide interventions.
- • The role of students' voices in shaping student success in their institutions.
- • Strategies rooted in evidence to address factors hindering timely progress through university, and in acquiring graduate skills essential for employment.
- • Strategies or interventions that have reduced equity gaps in student success measures within the institution.
- • Using learning design to transform learning and teaching in higher and TVET institutions to foster student success

Given the socio-economic challenges faced by the majority of students, both in the US and in South Africa, it is more important than ever before, for call further and higher education institutions to provide holistic student support to address the socio- economic and academic barriers experienced my many students. By partnering with organizations that seek to address similar issues, institutions can expand their reach and enhance their impact. This article details processes which are intended to help college and university leaders and educational practitioners to develop and implement a plan for strategic partnerships that are mutually beneficial. ...
